Caring for your purchases
Thank you for purchasing a staveart original piece.
All platters and boards intended for use with food have been finished in food safe Walrus Cutting Board oil and then either Walrus Wood Wax or Gilly’s Food Safe Wax. With use, the finish will dull over time. I recommend reapplying a wax finish every 12 months.
To clean platters and boards use warm soapy water. Do NOT wash any staveart pieces in your dishwasher!
StaveLight candleholders and other décor pieces have been oiled and finished with Monocel liquid wax.
All staveart pieces are guaranteed to be splinter-free and as smooth as a well worn piano key. (..most of the splinters have beed extracted from my fingers…)
**For your safety, do not leave lit candles unattended.
Anatomy of a Barrel
Just as no two barrels are alike, no two staves are alike! So, every piece I create is indeed unique.
If you ask me to replicate something exactly, I’ll try, but there will be inherent variations.
If you would like me to create a specific piece for you, perhaps similar to one you have seen elsewhere, again, I’ll do my best to get close, and I will always chat with you to confirm any variations due to available materials!

A little about staveart

Based just out of Geelong, Victoria, I have been a maker, tinkerer and wood worker since I could walk. Which often saw me in strife…pulling apart things that were not meant to be pulled apart!
Inspired by my Grandfather – a builder – and my dad, also a maker of things, I’ve built houses, furniture, bikes, lamps, and all manner of handy bits and pieces.
